Don Gillette started working at Lawrence Tech in 2010. He is a native of Metro-Detroit growing up in Macomb Twp and went to Dakota High School. He oversees the Recreational Sports program at LTU. He also supervises the student staff that works at the Field House. Don is responsible for the coordination of game days as well as assisting with the eligibility process for LTU's student athletes. He has been a part of the transition into varsity athletics since day one.
Prior to Lawrence Tech, Don was the Graduate Assistant for Intramural and Club Sports at the University of Southern Mississippi. At USM he completed his Master's degree in one year. He graduated from Southern Miss, in 2010, with a Master's of Science in Sport Management.
Before his time at Southern Miss, Don worked in the University Recreation Department at Central Michigan University. as an undergraduate student he found his passion working in collegiate recreation as an Intramural Official and Supervisor. He also worked at with the City of Mount Pleasant coordinate youth and adult recreation activities.
Don graduated from Central Michigan University in 2008 with a Bachelor's of Applied Arts in Sport Administration. He has minors in Management and Spanish.
Don is a registered MHSAA sport official in football, volleyball, basketball, and softball. In his free time he enjoys playing golf, traveling, being with family, and attending sporting events. He currently resides in Livonia, with his wife Chelsea.
