Mario Scibilia began working at Lawrence Tech in 2008 as an Admissions Counselor responsible for recruiting and program planning. While in the Admissions Office, he has also served as Staff Senate President and was the first Men’s Soccer Assistant Coach as LTU returned to the athletics world through NAIA in 2011. He continues to hold a leadership role in planning, implementing, and execution of Lawrence Tech’s Summer Camp programs.
As of 2015, he has been Lawrence Tech’s Athletic and Degree Audit Specialist through the Office of the Registrar. His primary roles include athletic compliance and education along with implementing and maintaining Degree Works, LTU’s web-based, degree auditing and tracking tool that enables students and advisors to evaluate academic progress towards graduation in accordance to university and major requirements. Mario strives to improve the success and experience of our students by updating and creating university processes that are educational and proactive.
Mario is a 2005 graduate of Oakland University’s School of Education and Human Services. Pursuing a major in education has facilitated his “student success first” mentality. He currently resides in Royal Oak with his wife Nicole. Outside of the office you will find him doing one of the following: cheering on his Blue Devils, playing on his coed softball team, walking his dog, Minnie, or traveling to tropical destinations. He really enjoys visiting professional and minor league stadiums, ballparks, and arenas.
Outside of Michigan, he has been to the Mercedes Benz Superdome (Who Dat?!?!), Lambeau Field, Gillette Stadium, Fenway Park, Wrigley Field, Coors Field, Petco Park, Rogers Centre, Turner Field, Progressive Field, BB&T Stadium, Fifth Third Field, McCoy Stadium, George M. Steinbrenner Stadium, Columbus Crew Stadium, and TD Banknorth Garden.
