SOUTHFIELD, Mich. -- The Lawrence Technological (Mich.) University women's soccer team won their third home game in a row moving to 3-1 on the season against Roosevelt University (Ill.) on August 31 under the lights at the LTU Athletic Field.

With her first collegiate start, Madison Turley (FR/Romeo, Mich.) recorded a shutout for LTU with one save in net against the Lakers. With the Blue Devils dominating the possession once again, the defense kept the ball out of their backfield with the few chances that the Lakers did have during the game.

Outshooting RU (0-2-0) 22-4, LTU was led by Alayne Nyboer (JR/Grandville, Mich.)'s six chances on goal. However, the player to score the lone goal for the night was Sidney McClay (FR/Romeo, Mich.), her second of the season, with an assist by Lauren Wasiak (SO/Walled Lake, Mich.), her second of the season as well. This goal came in the first half of the game with 24:16 left in the half. After a go ahead pass from Wasiak, McClay beat her defender narrowly to put the ball in the bottom left corner of the net.

LTU continued to dominate Roosevelt, especially capitalizing on their mistakes, pestering the Laker's goalie, Kara Jones, with eight corner kick attempts and repeatedly stealing the ball back away on any change of possession and goal kick.

With their first game under the lights a success, the women's soccer team looks onto their next match against Purdue University Northwest (Ind.) on Tuesday, September 4 where kickoff is set for 7 p.m. at the LTU Athletic Field.
