SOUTHFIELD, Mich. – The Lawrence Technological (Mich.) University baseball team qualified for the 2019 WHAC Tournament Championships as the third-seed playing in the Madonna Pod in Livonia, Mich. The Blue Devils face the sixth-seed Cornerstone (Mich.) University in game one at Madonna (Mich.) University on Thursday, May 2. First pitch is set for 10 a.m.
Lawrence Tech earned the third seed after finishing conference play with a 14-8 record taking the tie-breaker over Concordia (Mich.) University – Ann Arbor. This is the second straight appearance in the WHAC tournament for the Blue Devils.
Cornerstone earned the sixth-seed with an 11-10-1 record. The Golden Eagles and Blue Devils split their season series with Cornerstone taking game one 7-3 and Lawrence Tech winning game two 6-5.
Madonna is the second-seed, playing in game two against the loser of the Blue Devils and Golden Eagles game. Madonna enters the postseason with a 15-7 record and host Pod B.
In Pod A, played at Indiana Tech, fourth-seed Concordia (14-8) faces fifth-seed Northwestern Ohio (13-9) in game one at 12 p.m. Top-seed Indiana Tech faces the loser of game one at 3 p.m. after a 17-4-1 record in conference play.
