Josh Long
Title: Assistant Coach

Josh Long begins his 1st season with the Blue Devils for the 2018 – 2019 season after having served in the high school ranks the past two seasons.  Long spent the past couple of seasons serving as an Assistant Coach at Father Gabriel Richard High School in Ann Arbor in charge of Pitchers and Catchers, while also spending some time working with hitting instruction.  During his tenure at AAGR, the Irish won a Catholic League Championship in 2017 and a MHSAA District Championship in 2018.  Long also assisted players within the program in their recruiting process as they moved onto the collegiate ranks after completing their high school eligibility. 

Long also has had a successful background in the elite summer baseball travel world where he has worked with two well regarded programs, more recently with the 18u South Oakland A’s program and prior to that the Northville Broncos, where he again spent time working in all facets of the game.

Prior to entering the coaching ranks, Long played at Romeo High School for long-time Head Coach TJ DeLamiellure where he was a 2-year Letter Winner and named to the All-District Team for Academics in 2010.

After high school, Long moved to continue his academic and athletic career at Kalamazoo Valley Community College where he pitched and was twice named to the MCCAA All-Academic Team.  After leaving KVCC, Long moved to continue his pursuits at Northwood University in Midland, where he was again named to the All-Academic Team in the GLIAC, while he continued to perform on the mound for the Grey Wolves.  Long also spent a summer pitching for the Kalamazoo Growlers in the prestigious Northwood Summer Collegiate League.  Long lives in Farmington Hills with his wife Julie.
