DAYTON, Ohio.- The Lawrence Technological (Mich.) University men's bowling team fell 3-0 in the ITC championship match against Webber International (Fla.) University on Saturday, April 20.
In the first game, the Blue Devils bowled 176, three pins short of the Warriors. In game two, LTU fell 150-149 to Weber. Despite improving 32 pins in the third game, Weber sealed the victory with a 209-181 win over Lawrence Tech.
The Blue Devils had one bowler participate in the ITC Singles Championships, Kyle McGrath. In the qualifying round on Tuesday, April 16, McGrath finished seeded in the fifth place after rolling 1323. The Davison, Mich. native arrived at the semifinals after defeating Morgan Moore from Midland (Neb.) University in the second round, 573-530, and Nathan Stubler from St. Ambrose (Iowa) University in the third, 683-575. However, McGrath fell 248-175 in the semifinals to Tom Hankey Jr. from Weber. Hankey Jr. took the individual title after downing Matt Hibbard from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee in the championship match.
