East Lansing, Mich.- The Lawrence Technological (Mich.) University men's golf team finished in sixth place at the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference Jamboree #1, hosted by Aquinas (Mich.) College, at Timber Ridge GC. The Blue Devils carded an 80-over par 656-team score for both days of the tournament (332-324). LTU finished 40 shots behind the first place, University of Northwestern Ohio, who posted a 616 (306-310).
Lawrence Tech finished with one golfer on the top 15 as Kaleb Wiesner took 11th with a 160 (81-79), 14 shots behind medalist Gonzalo Garcia-Parada from UNOH. Josh Stein and Eddie Sheehan followed Wiesner on a tie for 22nd as they carded a two-round score of 164 shots. Zach Smith tied in 41st with a 175, while Alex Gold shot a 10-over par 82 on the second day of play.
The tournament top 5 was rounded out by Aquinas (Mich.) College with a 630 (319-311), Cleary (Mich.) University with a 638 (311-327), Lourdes (Ohio) University with a 638 (320-318), and Madonna (Mich.) University with a 656 (319-334).
Lawrence Tech will be back in action on Monday, September 23 when they host the Blue Devil Classic at the Tradition Course of the Treetops Resort in Gaylord, Mich.
