SOUTHFIELD, Mich. - With the WHAC championships approaching, being held on Saturday, April 27 , the Wolverine Hoosier Athletic Conference announced their awards for men's lacrosse. The Lawrence Technological University men's lacrosse team received three nods, all gathering second team all-conference nods, with Brendan Oles, Nik Kubik and Alex Schlueter making the team.
Nik Kubik was named second team face off specialist in the release. Kubik has 106 ground balls, averaging 7.57 a game, has three goals and is ninth in the nation for face off winning percentage with a 61.8%, winning 220 so far.
Alex Schlueter was named second team defensive short stick midfielder. He has one goal this season and two assists. He has 28 ground balls this season and has three caused turnovers, fighting hard inbetween the restraining lines.
Brendan Oles was named second team midfielder with 41 goals, 22 assists and 63 points. He also has grabbed 26 ground balls and is ranked 15th in the nation for total goals and 17th in total assists so far this season.
These three Blue Devils, along with the rest of the team, now compete in the battle of the Tech's at Indiana Institute of Technology for the WHAC championship, starting at 5 p.m. They, along with the women's team, compete in the championship game, looking to nab not only a title, but an automatic qualifier to the NAIA national invite.
