Men's Lacrosse Opens First Round of National Invite with Game Against Aquinas

Grand Rapids, Mich. – In the search for a national title, the Lawrence Technological University men's lacrosse team opens the NAIA National Lacrosse Invitational with a first round game against Aquinas College on Wednesday, May 8th at 10 a.m.

With a 11-6 season and several key upsets, the Blue Devils grabbed the third seed in the tournament behind Indiana Tech at the two seed and Reinhardt (Ga.) who is the first seed overall. The last time Aquinas and Lawrence Tech met was only in the end of April, where the Blue Devils came out on top with a 14-10 win.

Leading Lawrence Tech is Maveric Muscat, who is third in the nation for assists at 31, Joel Trent who ranks fifth in the nation for saves at 155 and Brendan Oles who is ninth for goal with 42. The team is fifth in the nation for total goals with 204 and second in the nation for their accuracy of shots, with 417 out of 697 on target. Highlighting their game against the Saints was six goals from Jacob Flood, and the five goals and one assist from Brendan Oles.

Aquinas is led by the stick of Cam Rogers, who is first in the nation for total assists with 46, assists per game with 3.5, and first in the nation for points per game with over 7. Right behind him is his teammate Sam Klinsky who is second in all the same categories. Rogers had five goals against the Blue Devils while Klinsky had two goals and three assists.
