SOUTHFIELD, Mich.—The Lawrence Technological (Mich.) University men's soccer team (4-8, 3-3) will welcome the (RV) Warriors of Indiana Tech (9-4, 6-0) to Blue Devil Stadium, on what will be Lawrence Technological University's homecoming. It will be the first time these two teams have squared off since the 2018 WHAC Tournament Championship, which saw the Blue Devils capture their first ever WHAC Tournament Championship. The match is scheduled to begin at 4:30pm, following the football game vs. Siena Heights (Mich.).
The Blue Devils enter the match vs. (RV) Indiana Tech after dropping consecutive conference road games, most recently at Rochester (Mich.) by a score of 3-1. In that match, the Blue Devils were on the end of a couple bad bounces, and the decision did not side in their favor. Scoring the lone goal for the Blue Devils was Juan Jaramillo, who capitalized on a penalty kick early in the second half. One thing is for certain from the Blue Devils, their offense is going to having scoring opportunities. In five of their last seven matches, the Blue Devils have taken at least 20 shots. They are generating chances, but need to find a way to capitalize.
(RV) Indiana Tech enters the match-up as arguably the hottest team in the WHAC. They have won all six of their conference matches to begin the season, and have outscored their WHAC opponents by a score of 24-6. Leading the Warriors in goal scoring is Noe Garcia with nine goals, including a hat trick on October 12 vs. Siena Heights (Mich.). The Warrior responsible for keeping the Blue Devils out of the net will be Edwin Rosado. Rosado has started in 11 of the 12 games for the Warriors and has a record of 8-2 on the year with a save percentage of .760.
If the Blue Devils want to make a statement and gain some momentum with only a few games left on the schedule, this is the right game to do it. There should be a great crowd on hand for the rematch of the 2018 WHAC Tournament Championship match. Once, again kickoff is scheduled for 4:30pm.
