Coach Eric Green was happy with his team's performance today, despite not finishing as high as he would like against WHAC opponents, "I liked the improvement with the guys in the race today at this point of the season. I was hoping we could have placed a little better in the standings. We were beat badly by University of Michigan-Dearborn who won the meet followed by Siena Heights University (Mich.) who took third." Besides this, the team was successful in other ways, facing teams they are going to need to beat soon this season, "This was a meet for us to see how close we are to our conference foes and it looks like we have a ways to go in our training to be competitive with them. One of the highlights of the meet was seeing both Brody and Ian, who are just freshmen, make the all-time top 10 list for the 8k distance. I am very pleased with their development and adjustment to running in college."
