Coach Green graduated from Northcentral University in Presscott, Arizona with a Masters of Education specializing in Sport Management and Leadership. Before receiving his masters, Coach graduated from Northwest Missouri State University in 1992 with a bachelors degree in Physical Education. 

Coach Green got his start in coaching when he became the Head Men's and Women's Cross Country/Track Coach for Rochester College in 2001-2003. From there, Green became the Assistant Cross Country/Track Coach for Oakland Community College, where he also held several other positions including: Assistant Athletic Director, Athletic Coordinator, Site Manager, and Health and Physical Education Professor. 

Below is a list of Coach Green's personal accomplishments:

1992 NCAA Division II All-American in the 800 meters (1:51.79) at NCAA DII National Indoor Track and Field Championships

2005-2006 American Record Holder in 35-39 age group in the indoor Mile 4:26 and 3000 9:00

2009 Michigan Runner Magazines Masters Runner of the year

2010 Michigan Runner Magazines Runner of the Year

2011 Michigan Runner Magazines Masters Runner of the year

Over 25 years of high level competitive running experience with a personal best 2:36 in the marathon.  

During Coach Green's coaching tenure, he has coached over 16 All-American athletes at the NJCAA level and one in the USCAA level. Also, over 25 Academic All-Americans at the NJCAA level.

Coach Green currently lives in Pontiac, Mich, with his wife Julia.  He has twin girls Jessica and Ellen who attend Eastern Michigan University and University of Michigan and a Son Rick who will be attending Eastern Michigan in the fall.
