Weekly Preview: Blue Devils Face Off With Three WHAC Foes; Senior Day and Knock Cancer Out of the Park Game on Sunday Against Siena Heights

SOUTHFIELD, Mich.- This week, the (RV) Lawrence Technological (Mich.) University will face off with Aquinas (Mich.) College, Indiana Tech, and Siena Height (Mich.) University in Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference action. 

The Blue Devils will travel to Grand Rapids, Mich. and Fort Wayne, Ind. on Wednesday, April 10 and Saturday, April 13 to play against Aquinas and IT, respectively, at 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. On Sunday, April 14, LTU will host Siena Heights at 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. in the University of Detroit-Mercy. Senior Day and Knock Cancer Out of the Park - Cancer Awareness game will be held on the doubleheader against SHU.

Last week, Lawrence Tech (25-6-1, 7-4-1) registered five wins, two losses, and one tie in WHAC action with 38-scored runs and 19 surrendered.

Through 32 games this season, LTU has a 0.299 batting average and 0.338 on-base percentage. In addition, Lawrence Tech has scored 152 runs and allowed 71. The Blue Devils are ranked eighth in the NAIA for earned run average, 1.680, and sit first in the WHAC for opponent batting average, 0.220, and fielding percentage, 0.966.

Andra Malburg paces the team with 30 hits and a 0.375 batting average. Meredith Adams has scored 21 runners and Cherilyn Banas has stolen eight bases. Brittney Bult, Sydney Schultz, and Alexa Cherney lead the conference in opponent batting average with 0.197, 0.231, and 0.245 respectively. Bult is also ranked first in the WHAC for earned run average, 1.22, while Cherney leads in batters struck out per game, 8.62.

Aquinas (23-13, 6-2) has scored 215 runs and surrendered 163 over 36 outings. The Saints have a 0.327 batting average and a 0.389 on-base percentage. Brooke Wila paces the squad with 49 hits and 24 stolen bases. Izzy Dawson has registered 35 RBIs, averaging 0.97 per game. Marisa Loya leads the Saints' pitchers with 67 strikeouts and 2.33 earned runs per contest.

Through 33 games, Indiana Tech (14-19, 6-6) has a 0.304 batting average and 0.366 on-base percentage. The Warriors have scored 159 runs and allowed 190. Brianna Glass leads the team with 49 hits and 59 stolen bases, Emily Martin paces the squad with 23 RBIs. Jaden Romero allows an average of 2.70 earned runs per outing and Ashley Alvey has registered 25 strikeouts.

Siena Heights (24-8, 9-1) has scored 267 runs and surrendered 130 over 32 games. The Saints have a 0.367 batting average and 0.419 on-base percentage. Ashley Helmik paces the squad with a 0.519 batting average, 55 hits, and 43 RBIs, while Kayla Boland has stolen 11 bases. Racquel Ward leads SHU's pitchers with 2.76 earned runs per game and 69 strikeouts.
