SOUTHFIELD, Mich.- The (RV) Lawrence Technological (Mich.) University softball team posted a 16-5-1 conference record to finish as runner up in the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference regular season. Madonna (Mich.) University took the title with an 18-4 record. The Blue Devils qualified as second-seeded in the upcoming WHAC Tournament on May 1-3.
Lawrence Tech (34-8-1, 16-5-1) will face off with No. 7 Indiana Tech (23-24, 11-11) in the tournament's first round on Wednesday, May 1 at the Pacesetter Park in Sylvania, Ohio. First pitch is set for 4 p.m. The winner of this matchup will play against the winner of the game between third-seeded Siena Heights (Mich.) University and No. 6 Cleary (Mich.) University at 6:30 p.m. on the same day and location. The losers of both outings will also face off at 6:30 p.m. on the same day and location.
Through 43 games, the Blue Devils have a 0.309 batting average and a 0.355 on-base percentage. LTU has scored 214 runs and allowed 110.
