  • Buckingham Becomes First Women's Basketball Student-Athlete to Earn Google Cloud Academic All-America First Team Honors

    SOUTHFIELD, Mich.– Nicole Buckingham of the Lawrence Technological (Mich.) University women's basketball team earned 2019 Google Cloud Academic All-America First Team honors, after being selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA). Buckingham is the second student-athlete in Lawrence Tech's history to earn this recognition.

    SOUTHFIELD, Mich.– Nicole Buckingham of the Lawrence Technological (Mich.) University women's basketball team was named to the 2019 NAIA All-America First-Team, the league office announced on Thursday, March 14. Buckingham becomes the first women's hoops athlete to receive this honor. In previous years, former Blue Devil Hali Butler was named to the All-America Third Team, while Buckingham earned honorable mention honors last season.
  • Buckingham Earns Daktronics NAIA Scholar-Athlete Honors

    SOUTHFIELD, Mich.- Nicole Buckingham of the Lawrence Technological (Mich.) University women's basketball team was named Daktronics NAIA Scholar-Athlete, announced the league office on Monday, March 11. This is the second year in a row that Buckingham earns this honor.

This is the first time the teams meet in postseason.

University women's basketball team fell to seventh-ranked Indiana Tech, 89-65, in the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference Semifinal at the Schaefer Center in Fort Wayne. Kendall Fisher led the Blue Devils with 21 points and contributed with three assists and six rebounds.
  • Women's Hoops Upsets (RV) Siena Heights in Overtime; Fisher Scores Career-High 24 Points

    ADRIAN, Mich.- The Lawrence Technological (Mich.) University women's basketball team defeated (RV) Siena Heights (Mich.) University, 68-63, in overtime in the first round of the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference Tournament on Wednesday, February 20 at the SHU Field House. Kendall Fisher (FR/Indianapolis, Ind.) paced the Blue Devils with a career-high 24 points and contributed with six rebounds.

    GRAND RAPIDS, Mich.- The Lawrence Technological (Mich.) University women’s basketball team fell, 80-69, in overtime to 25th-ranked Aquinas (Mich.) College in their last game of the regular season on Monday, February 18 at the Sturrus Center in Grand Rapids. Senior Guard Nicole Buckingham led the squad with  28 points and eight boards.

    SOUTHFIELD, Mich.- This week, the Lawrence Technological (Mich.) University women's hoops will face off with 25th-ranked Aquinas (Mich.) College to close the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference regular season. The Blue Devils will visit the Saints on Monday, February 18 at 6 p.m. in Grand Rapids, Mich. The WHAC Tournament first round will take place on Wednesday, February 20. Time and location are still TBD. Lawrence Tech currently sits fifth on the conference.

Senior Guard Nicole Buckingham led the charge with 29 points and 10 rebounds, recording her 15th double-double of the season thus far, 19th of her career.

Senior Guard Nicole Buckingham paced the Blue Devils with her 13th double-double of the season as she scored 35 points and grabbed a career-high 19 boards, setting the team’s record for most double-doubles in one season.

The 121 points scored tied a program record for points scored in a game. The 82-point point differential was the biggest differential in program history, besting there 79-point win over Great Lakes Christian earlier this season.
