Women's Bowling Knocked Down Enough Pins to Earn the Silver

ALLEN PARK, Mich.—The Lawrence Technological University women's bowling team was in action this past Saturday, October 5th, competing in the WHAC Jamboree #1. The Blue Devils varsity team finished the day 2nd out of 13 teams, only behind the No. 3 ranked team in the country, Indiana Tech. The Blue Devils' junior varsity team also competed this weekend and took 5th out of nine teams.

As a team, the Blue Devils varsity squad knocked down 3,509 in four team games and 2,799 in four Baker games, giving them a total 6,308 pins. This gave them just over a 14 pin per game average higher than Lourdes (Ohio), who finished in 3rd place.

Victoria Giardina finished the jamboree with the highest average out of the Blue Devils with 188.5. Her 188.5 average was good for 5th overall. Also posting good scores for the Blue Devils were Sydney Clark (182.5 avg.) and Bailey Gipson (176.5). Clark finished in 8th and Gipson finished 12th. Also posting a great score was junior varsity bower, Miranda Norris. Norris's average of 170 was good for 16th out of all bowlers.

The Blue Devils will be back in action next weekend on Oct. 12th and Oct. 13th. They will be competing in the Orange and Black Classic in Riverside, Ohio.
