SOUTHFIELD, Mich.- The Lawrence Technological (Mich.) University men's and women's golf head coach Scott Marzolino added three more student athletes to the teams' signing class of 2019. Julia LeFere, Alana Sprague, and Paul Roberge will join the 12 new recruits that will continue their educational and athletic career at LTU.
Julia LeFere (Pleasant Lake, Mich.) was a double-sport athlete in Northwest High School as she played golf and soccer. LeFere earned All-State Academic Team honors in 2016, 2017, 2018, and 2019, and was also named Farmers' Insurance Athlete of the Month in 2016. She was also crowned individual champion at the sectional qualifier in 2018. LeFere's lowest 18-hole score is 76.
Alana Sprague (Norton Shores, Mich.) played third in the lineup of the Spring Lake High School women's golf team. Her high school team won team regional championships in 2017 and 2018, and finished third in the state qualifying tournament in 2017.
Paul Roberge (Grosse Point, Mich.) graduated from the University of Detroit Mercy Jesuit High School in May 2019, where he was part of the golf team. Last fall, Roberge finished fourth in an event of the Top 50 Jr Tour after carding an eight-over par score at the Pontiac Country Club.
