HOWELL, Mich.- The Lawrence Technological (Mich.) University women's golf team finished the first WHAC Jamboree of the season in seventh place with a 738 (380-358) two-round score. The tournament, hosted by Cleary (Mich.) University, took place at Chemung Hills Golf Club in Howell, Mich. on September 27-28.
The Blue Devils finished 83 shots behind leader University of Northwestern Ohio, who had a 655 (329-326) team-score. The top five was rounded out by Indiana Tech with a 675 (339-336), Aquinas (Mich.) College with a 714 (357-357), Cleary with a 715 (359-356), and Siena Heights (Mich.) University with a 721 (370-351).
Alex Manalang was the top finisher for LTU as she tied in 18th place with a 179 (88-91), 18 shots short of medalists Carissa Graft and Kim Siercks from Indiana Tech. Manasa Potluri climbed five spots on the second day to finish in a tie for 23rd after carding a two-round score of 182 (94-88). Rachel Kristian followed in a tie for 26th with a 184 (96-88). Lauren Hartline and Julia LeFere tied in 36th as they posted two-round scores of 194.
The Blue Devils will return to action on Monday, September 30 for the WHAC Jamboree No. 2 at Twin Lakes Golf Club in Rochester, Mich. The tournament will be hosted by Rochester (Mich.) University.
