NO. 8 Blue Devils Win Seven in a Row With 24-1 Win Against Bethel Pilots; Prepare for NO. 4 Indiana Tech Saturday

WIXOM, Mich. – Continuing their win streak, the NO. 8 Lawrence Technological University women's lacrosse team took control from their first draw of the game against Bethel College (Ind.) on Wednesday, April 10th securing their seventh win in row with a 24-1 decision.

An all-out team win, the team had 13 Blue Devils notching their names in the goal column, including Anna Gagnon grabbing five, Ashley Sherry grabbing four and Teagan Laier scoring three. Gagnon had an outstanding night against the Pilots (1-10, 1-5) with an 11 point game, including six assists. Laier was right with her with three.

Defensively, Axey Vang was all over the field, causing several possessions changes with two caused turnovers. In net, Dorie Coggin only saw three shots, saving two.

Off the draw, the Blue Devils controlled the game, winning all but one of the 27 draw controls. Gabi Larkin led the pack with eight draw controls while Kady Waits, Bella Van Buren and Abby Barnewold each had four. Laier also led the team in ground balls with four.


The Blue Devils dominated the game, starting from the first draw, with Kady Waits scoring the opening goal in 30 seconds of the time starting. From there, the Blue Devils went on a ten goal streak, keeping a pace of one goal every minute. It wasn't until the 13th minute of the game that Bethel had a steady possession and capitalized on it from the stick of the leading scorer, Allison Coffeen.

After that, Lawrence Tech looked for more touches on the ball, assisting six of the next eight goals.

The second period was another shut out for the Blue Devils, their fourth time this season against a WHAC opponent. This half was highlighted with six goals, which five were assisted on, adding to the impressive 15 assists by the team in this win.


Up next for the Blue Devils is a key match against NO. 4 Indiana Tech on Saturday, April 10th at 1 p.m. The Warriors are 8-2 this season and are the only other undefeated team in the WHAC with a 6-0 record.
