HOW IT HAPPENED
The Blue Devils shut down the Saints attempts for a whole half for the fifth time this season against a WHAC opponent. They opened the first with a quick stop by a Saint attempt with a save from Coggin. Which preceded an opening goal from Sherry, fed from Gagnon within two minutes of regulation. After another goal from the Blue Devils, the Saints got another attempt on net, with Coggin shutting them down again. From there, they went on to score 13 goals without many Saints attempts, including a last minute goal from Kady Waits.
The second half saw two quick Blue Devil goals, the first coming from Waits, assisted by Abby Barnewold within the first 32 seconds of the half. The first Saint's goal came 12 minutes into the second on a free position shot. Then a quiet 12 minutes followed before Aquinas found the back of the net for the second and last time of the game. The Blue Devils sealed their 19-2 win with a goal with just under three minutes to go in the game with a goal from Patterson, fed by Maddie Barnewold.
As several WHAC teams have games to be played this week, the Blue Devils will wait for the seating to be annouced to find out who they will host on Thursday, April 25th, as they currently sit in a comfortable NO. 2 seed going into conference play offs.
