To conclude their early season home stand, the Lawrence Technological University women's soccer team host the IU-Kokomo (Ind.) Cougars on Saturday, September 7th at 6 p.m. following the conclusion of the LTU Football home opener.
The Blue Devils (2-1-0, 0-0-0) come into this match following two strong statement wins. The first was at home versus the Rio Grande (Ohio) Red Storm with a 5-1 win. This past Sunday, they defeated the Point Park (Pa.) Pioneers in a 4-0 shutout.
Several Blue Devils have made it on to the point board, including the most recent WHAC Offensive Player of the Week Katelyn Mather with her four goals and lone assist in the past few games for a total of nine points. Newcomer DiOnna Hill has six points in her breakthrough year from two goals and two assists. Laura Silverman has grabbed two goals this season for four points. Rounding up the group is another newcomer Dahlia Jerovsek with three points from one goal and one assist. Returner Alayne Nyboer has two points this season with two assists.
The Cougar's (1-2-0,0-0-0) head to Southfield following their first win as a program versus WHAC opponent Rochester College where they won 2-1. Only three Cougars are on the point board. Scoring the team's first ever goal was Keely Hoopingarner who has one lone goal this season. Also on the board is Haley Abel with one goal and Mackenzie Pedigo.
After this match, LTU is back on the road to play Alma College (Mich.) on September 11 at 4 p.m.. The Scots are 1-1 this season thus far, yet play two more games before hosting the Blue Devils at their field.
