The Lawrence Technological University women's soccer team beat the University of Michigan-Dearborn 1-0 on Wednesday, October 2nd for their second WHAC win of the season. Scoring the lone goal was DiOnna Hill in the 72nd minute of the game unassisted. Hill now has five goals as a freshman, three of which have been scored in WHAC matches.
The teams kept it close for the majority of the match. In the first half alone, The Blue Devils (6-3-0, 2-1,0) took 10 chances on net while the Wolverines (1-5-0, 0-2-0) took nine. In the second, the Blue Devils controlled the ball, keeping it on their offensive end for the majority of the game and taking nine shots, one of which got past the blue and maize goalie. defensively, they limited Dearborn to only four shots and no corner kicks in the second. The Blue Devils had their work cut out for them, in large part to the Wolverine goalie, Jordan Anheuser, who had 11 saves on the night. Hill and Dahlia Jerovsek lead the team with four shots each, two of which were on goal
Up next, the Blue Devils face Concordia Ann-Arbor on Saturday, October 5th at home for a 7:30 kick off. The Cardinals (4-4-0, 1-1-0) are fresh off an 1-0 loss to Madonna (Mich.) on Wednesday, October 2nd.
