The Lawrence Technological University women's soccer team fell on Wednesday night to the Siena Heights University Saints on the road 1-0.
In the early parts of the first period, 12 minutes in, the Saints (10-4-1, 6-2-0) found the back of the net quickly in a break away, scoring in the upper left area of the goal. The game continued on, with LTU (9-5-0, 5-3-0) outshooting in the Saints 8 to 6 in the first half. In the second, the Saints took control of the ball, including taking eight shots compared to Lawrence Tech's three.
For the Blue Devils, Alayne Nyboer and DiOnna Hill each had three shots on the night In net, Rebecca Almandoz had seven saves and only one shot go past her. LTU did have several opportunities to score, with five corner kicks on the night, three of which were in the second. Despite this, the game concluded with a 1-0 defict.
The Blue Devils now prepare to face Lourdes University (Ohio) on the road on Saturday, October 26th. The Gray Wolves (8-6-0, 4-4-0) are fresh off a 3-0 loss to Madonna University on Wednesday night.
