SOUTHFIELD, Mich.- The Lawrence Technological (Mich.) University women's tennis team defeated Indiana Tech, 7-2, on Wednesday, March 6 at the Franklin Athletic Club. This was the Blue Devils' first Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference match of the season. With this outcome, LTU pushed the all-time series lead to 6-1.
Lawrence Tech started with a five-point lead as they won by default second and third doubles flight, and court-four, five and six singles.
Samantha Weber (FR/Clarkston, Mich.) notched a double 6-1 victory against Elena Tokic at court-three singles. Vega-Hazas fell 6-0,6-1 to Jimenez, while Mateos lost 6-4, 6-1 to Borges at first and second flights, respectively.
The Blue Devils will be back in action on Thursday, March 7 at 12:30 p.m. when they host Concordia (Mich.) University-Ann Arbor.
