The LTU Women's Tennis Team Will Look to Move to 2-0 on the Season vs. the Adrian College Bulldogs, in The Blue Devils' Home Opener

SOUTHFIELD, Mich.- Coming off a near perfect victory vs. Taylor University (Ind.), the Lawrence Technological University women's tennis team (1-0) looks to do much of the same vs. the Adrian College Bulldogs (0-0) on Wednesday, September 4th at 4:00pm.

In the match vs Taylor University, the LTU women's tennis team dominated in almost every aspect of the match. In the singles' matches, the Blue Devils did not drop a single set. In the first singles match, Maria Hazas won both of her sets by scores of 6-0.

Head Coach Stephen Behmlander likes what he saw last week from his team, and wants to see much of the same vs. the Bulldogs, "...we need to bring the same grit and grind that they displayed at Taylor (Ind.)." A strong start will be imperative, and Behmlander knows that, "...we will need to be aggressive right away from the first serve and pick up the doubles points."

Behmlander and the Blue Devils will look to two players in particular to continue being competitive in these matches.  These two players according to Behmlander are, "... the Newcomer of the Year (2018-2019) in Maria Hazas, and she has picked up right where she left off last season at our #1 singles position. She has a year of experience and maturity at #1S under her belt and she looks even stronger this year. We also have Senior, Sabrina Mateos in her cradle at the #3S position, who is poised to become the winningest women's tennis player in LTU history this season."

These two teams squared off last year and saw the Blue Devils win by a score of 7-2. In fact, the Blue Devils have won their last three match-ups vs. the Bulldogs. The Blue Devils hope to continue their winning ways as they host the Bulldogs in the Wednesday afternoon contest.
