Women's Tennis Improves to 3-0 on the Season and Will be Back in Action Tomorrow, September 13th.

FORT WAYNE, Ind.-The Lawrence Technological University (Mich.) women's tennis team (3-0) remain perfect to start the season as they defeated the Cougars of St. Francis University (Ind.) (0-7). The Blue Devils snagged their third win of the season by winning by a score of 6-1.

To earn the first team point of the match, the women took the #1 and #2 doubles matches. The #3 doubles match did not finish. Winning the first match of the day, was the pair of Sabrina Mateos and Maria Hazas in the #1 doubles match. They defeated their Cougar opponents by a score of 6-0. To take the first team point of the match, the #2 doubles team of Carolin Minners and Samantha Kohn won by a score of 6-1. This gave the Blue Devils a 1-0 lead into the singles matches. 

The Blue Devils in the singles matches picked up right where they left off from their previous match. They did not drop a set to the hosting Cougars. To get the team scoring started in the singles matches was Kohn. She dominated in her match, the #4 singles match, by scores of 6-0, 6-0. Scoring the next team point for the Blue Devils was Hazas in the #1 singles match. She outplayed her opponent to win by scores of 6-0, 6-1. Finishing next was Mateos in the #3 singles match. Her match ended with her winning by scores of 6-2, 6-2. The team points increased to five after Weber defeated her opponent by scores of 6-2, 6-3 in the #3 singles match. Minners was the next to finish in the #5 singles match. Like her teammates, she also won. Her team point was added after she won by scores of 6-1, 6-2. The Blue Devils did give up their first team point of the season in the #6 singles match. 

The Blue Devils not improve to 3-0 on the season, and will waste no time getting back onto the court. Their next match in scheduled for Friday, September 13th. They will travel to Indiana University Kokomo to take on the Cougars. The time for this match is yet to be determined.
