SOUTHFIELD, Mich.—Kristi Doherty of the (RV) Lawrence Technological (Mich.) University women's volleyball team earned WHAC Setter of the Week honors; her third time this season. Doherty had 30-plus assists in all five matches this past week, including 57 vs. (No. 18) Rocky Mountain (Mont.).
Doherty continues to play at a high level for the Blue Devils. This past week she had a total of 199 assists, 91 digs, and five service aces. Her 57 assists vs. Rocky Mountain was good enough for her second highest total in a single match, only three behind her career high of 60. That total was just a week ago vs. Northwestern Ohio on 10/4/2019.
Currently, Doherty leads the Blue Devils in assists with 710 and in service aces with 52. Those 52 service aces have her ranked No. 4 in the NAIA. Doherty's leadership and consistent play have been a big reason why LTU is having a tremendous season. The Blue Devils at this time hold a 19-2 record.
The Blue Devils will be back on the court on Wednesday, Oct. 16th. They will host the Wolverines of Mich.-Dearborn at 7:00pm inside the Don Ridler Fieldhouse.
