Zakia Hunt Earned Herself the Honors of WHAC Attacker of the Week for the Second Time This Season

SOUTHFIELD, Mich.—Zakia Hunt of the (RV) Lawrence Technological (Mich.) University women's volleyball team earned WHAC Attacker of the Week honors for the second time this season, while posting a single match career high in kills (27) vs. (No. 18) Rocky Mountain (Mont.) at the Cornerstone Classic tournament this past weekend.

Hunt played in five different matches this past week and recorded 74 total kills. Hunt had double digit kills in four of the five matches, and finished the week with a .360 hitting percentage. Hunt also tallied 13 blocks over the week, collecting five vs. (RV) Trinity Christian (Ill.).

Currently, Hunt leads the Blue Devils in kills with 244 and ranks No. 7 in the NAIA in kill percentage with .365. Hunt's consistent play at the net has helped lead LTU to a 19-2 record.

The Blue Devils will be back on the court on Wednesday, Oct. 16th. They will host the Wolverines of Mich.-Dearborn at 7:00pm inside the Don Ridler Fieldhouse.
