(RV) Lawrence Tech Extends Wins Mark to 21 with 3-0 win over Concordia - AA on Friday Night in Ann Arbor

ANN ARBOR, Mich. – The (RV) Lawrence Technological (Mich.) University women's volleyball team continued their roll through conference play with a 3-0 sweep of Concordia (Mich.) University – Ann Arbor on Friday night in Ann Arbor, Mich.

Lawrence Tech (21-2, 12-0) earned their 14th sweep of the season as they defeated Concordia 25-13, 25-16, 25-17 to finish the two-game season sweep of the Cardinals. The Blue Devils hit .292 with 45 kills and 113 total attempts with 12 errors. Zakia Hunt led the team in kills with 11 while hitting .500 on 18 attempts followed by Isabella McDonald with nine kills and one error for a .444 hitting percentage. Doherty recorded 18 assists while Alexis Snider finished with a season high 17 assists.

The Blue Devils jumped out to an early lead in the opening set, 13-3, and never looked back as they took the set 25-13. In the second set, Lawrence Tech took a 5-0 lead off Varvara Gromakova's serve as the Blue Devils cruised to a 25-16 win to take a 2-0 lead. It was more of the same in the third set as Lawrence Tech took a 12-3 lead as they went on to a 25-17 win to take the match 3-0.

Lawrence Tech has now won four straight matches and 12-straight WHAC matches to continue their historic season. The Blue Devils have won 67 sets this season while dropping just 14 sets this season. They currently rank fifth in NAIA digs per game (20.03), sixth in service aces per game (2.42), and 12th in total services aces (189) and kills per game (13.6).

Doherty currently ranks fourth in NAIA total service aces with 52 and sixth in services aces per game at .69. Hunt ranks seventh in hitting percentage at .365 while Gromakova ranks 14th in service aces per game (.55) and 19th in total service aces with 41.

The Blue Devils return to the court on Wednesday, October 23 when they host Lourdes (Ohio) University at Don Ridler Field House. Opening serve is set for 7 p.m.
