SOUTHFIELD, Mich. – Kristi Doherty was named WHAC Setter of the Week for the fifth time this season as she surpassed 4,000 career assists last week to solidify her program record for assists in a career. She has now won the award four of the last five weeks as shes helped lead Lawrence Technological (Mich.) University to clinch their first regular season championship in program history.
Doherty finished the week off with a 103 total assists as she averaged 1.33 kills per set. She finished the weeks with a .250 hitting percentage on 12 kills and 32 total attacks. She is the first women's volleyball player to earn a player of the week five times in a season.
The Blue Devils will face (RV) Madonna (Mich.) University on Wednesday, November 6 in Livonia, Mich. First serve is set for 7 p.m.
