Athletic Training Room Policies

  1. The Athletic Training staff, including student workers, is committed to providing our intercollegiate student-athletes with the best possible health care. Please treat our staff in a professional, courteous, and respectful manner. 

  2. It is the student-athlete's responsibility to report all injuries/illnesses to a staff athletic trainer.

  3. Use of the athletic training room is reserved strictly for student-athletes involved in the Lawrence Technological University intercollegiate athletics program.

  4. Student-athletes are not permitted in the athletic training room without proper supervision.

  5. Student-athletes must swipe in with their student ID every time they enter the athletic training room.

  6. Student-athletes should report to the athletic training room for taping, treatment, and rehabilitation in proper attire (gym shorts, shoes, and t-shirts).

  7. Bags and sport equipment should not be brought into the athletic training room. These items should be left in the hall, which is designated as the “Bag Zone”, or in the locker room.

  8. No food or drink is allowed in the taping or treatment areas.

  9. Abusive and/or foul language, horseplay, loud talking, and/or loitering will not be tolerated. You will be asked to leave.

  10. All student-athletes must shower before receiving treatment.

  11. No supplies are to be taken from the athletic training room without the permission of a staff athletic trainer.

  12. Student-athletes are not to operate equipment and/or perform “self-treatments”.

  13. The phone, computer, and copy machine in the athletic training room are off limits to all student-athletes.

  14. No tobacco products are to be used in the athletic training room.

  15. It is the responsibility of the student athlete to follow the instructions of the athletic training staff, team physician and or other medical professional directives. Failure to do so will may result in an inability or delay in participation.

  16. Student-athletes are responsible for providing the athletic training staff with complete and accurate information regarding his/her medical history, medications, allergies, insurance and contact information.


Student-athletes are expected to adhere to the rules and regulations at all times. Failure to comply with these policies will result in loss of training room privileges.
