Lady Blue Devils earn third straight WHAC victory

DEARBORN, Mich. - For the first time in program history, the Lawrence Tech women's basketball team won its third straight Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) game, defeating the University of Michigan-Dearborn, 80-57. The Lady Blue Devils are now 4-1 all-time against the Wolverines, with an 18-point average margin of victory over the last three contests.

With 7:27 left in the first half, LTU broke a 15-15 tie on a 12-0 run, including back-to-back triples by Hannah Huff (JR/Waterford, MI). Late free throws down the stretch gave the Blue Devils a 32-21 lead at halftime.

Early in the second half, a jumper by Jazmine Brown (JR/Chesterfield, MI) extended LTU's lead to 20 points, following an 8-0 run. Michigan-Dearborn would cut the deficit to 14 points before the Blue Devils pulled away for good, holding at least a 20 point lead for the final four minutes of play.

Allison Kitchen (SO/Clio, MI) finished the night with a game-high 27 points, while grabbing nine rebounds. Allison Bicknell (JR/Waterford, MI) dropped 15 points, six assists, and four rebounds in 38 minutes of action. Huff added 11 points, including three three-pointers.

Lawrence Tech returns home to host the University of Northwestern Ohio on Dec. 3 at 6pm.
