Lawrence Technological University (LTU) Insurance Requirements for International Student-Athletes:

International Student-Athletes (Excluding Canada)

  • All international student-athletes are required to purchase a U.S.-based medical insurance plan in order to be eligible for athletic participation at LTU.
  • LTU only accepts the Aliant Pioneer Premier – $20,000 insurance plan.

Canadian Student-Athletes

  • Canadian student-athletes have the option to purchase an international insurance plan. However, if you choose not to purchase the plan, please be aware of the following:
    • You will be required to return to Canada for all non-emergency medical care (e.g., x-rays, MRIs, specialist appointments).
    • Emergency medical services will still be accessible in the U.S.
  • If you decide that you would like additional insurance please note that LTU only accepts the Aliant Pioneer Premier – $20,000 insurance plan.
