LTU travels to Aquinas for WHAC contest on Wednesday Night

SOUTHFIELD, Mich. - The Lawrence Technological University (LTU) women's basketball team travels to Aquinas College (Mich.) for Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) action in Grand Rapids, Mich., starting at 6 p.m.

Lawrence Tech (2-0, 1-0 WHAC) are coming off a 93-73 win over No. 21-ranked Madonna University (Mich.) on Saturday, November 14. Current WHAC Player of the Week Allison Kitchen (JR/Clio, MI) led the way for the Blue Devils, finishing with 29 points, eight rebounds, two assists, and a steal. Jazmine Brown (SR/Chesterfield, MI), Hali Butler (SR/Fairport Harbor, OH), and Maegan Branham (JR/Michigan Center, MI) added 10 points each in the conference opening win.

Kitchen leads LTU on the season with 24.5 points per game (ppg), while Butler is second on the team with 10.5 ppg. Chrstine Henry leads all Blue Devils with 14 rebounds this season.

In NAIA Division II, LTU is ranked first in 3-pt field goal percentage (0.520) and field goal percentage (0.538), fourth in assists per game (22), 12th in defensive rebounds per game (32), 15th in scoring offense per game (80.5).

Kitchen ranks first in the WHAC in scoring per game and field goal percentage (0.778). Kitchen ranks first in NAIA Division II in field goal percentage and fifth in points per game.

Aquinas (1-6, 0-1 WHAC) enter their conference home opener following a tough 64-63 loss at University of Northwestern Ohio. Katie Thuet led the way for the Saints with 15 points and six rebounds, while Hannah Brefeld added 14 points and seven rebounds.

Thuet leads the team in scoring through seven games, averaging 9.6 ppg, with Tyra Williams adding 8.4 ppg. Williams leads the Saints with 41 rebounds and 5.9 rebounds per game.

Aquinas ranks 12th in NAIA Division II in total blocks (24), 15th in total steals (69), and 21st in total scoring offense (455). Mary Vojtko ranks 24th in NAIA Division II assist/turnover ratio (3.000) and 3st in total blocks. Theut ranks 45th in total 3-pt field goals made (11).
