SOUTHFIELD, Mich. - The No. 25-ranked Lawrence Technological University (LTU) women's basketball team suffered its first loss of the season, 77-64 to Concordia (Mich.) University - Ann Arbor on Saturday afternoon.

Lawrence Tech (7-1, 6-1 WHAC) finished the game shooting 42.4 percent from the field, but just 18.8 percent from beyond the arc when they average 41.4 percent from three on the season. The Blue Devils shot just 47.8 percent from the line, 11-for-23. Concordia, on the other hand, shot 54.2 percent (13-for-24) from the three-point line and converted 16-of-20 free throws. Concordia converted 20 LTU turnovers into 21 points.

The Blue Devils jumped out to a 9-5 lead with 5:42, but an 11-3 run gave the Cardinals a 16-12 lead with 3:11 on the clock. Lawrence Tech cut the lead to 26-21 on a layup from Christina Henry (JR/Lansing, Mich.) with eight seconds on the clock.

LTU came out in the second quarter and struggled from the field as Concordia built a 16 point lead, 37-21. Lawrence Tech was able to cut into that lead with an 11-2 run to make it 39-32 with 1:52 left in the half. Concordia closed the second quarter with a three pointer to make it 42-32 at halftime.

In the third quarter, it was back-and-forth basketball as the teams each scored 10 points as the Cardinals continued to lead by 10 heading into the final quarter.

In the final quarter, with CUAA leading 56-46, Henry scored five of the next seven points as Hayley Walkowski (SO/Marshall, MI) added a layup to cut the lead to 56-53 with 6:44 left in the game. That was as close as the Blue Devils would get as they fell to Concordia 77-64.

Henry finished the game with a team high 21 points, while Walkowski, Hali Butler (SR/Fairport Harbor, OH), and Nicole Buckingham (FR/Saginaw, Mich.) each finished with 10 points. Butler and Henry each had a team high nine rebounds, while Kitchen added two steals.

Lawrence Tech is back on the court December 19 when they travel to No. 24-ranked Goshen (Ind.) College for a 1 p.m. tipoff.
