(RV) LTU hits the road, travels to Lourdes on Saturday

SOUTHFIELD, Mich. - The (RV) Lawrence Technological University (LTU) women's basketball team travels to Lourdes (Ohio) University on Saturday for a Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) contest in Sylvania, Ohio starting at 1 p.m.

Lawrence Tech (6-0, 5-0 WHAC) sit in a three-way tie atop the WHAC standings with No. 8-ranked Davenport (Mich.) University and University of Northwestern Ohio. The Blue Devils remain the lone undefeated team in the conference at 6-0.

LTU defeated Marygrove (Mich.) College 101-44 on Wednesday night behind five players who reached double-figure scoring. Allison Kitchen (JR/Clio, MI) led the way with 16, while Autumn Whirley (FR/Eaton, Ohio) added 15. Hali Butler (SR/Fairport Harbor, OH), Jazmine Brown (SR/Chesterfield, MI), and Christina Henry (JR/Lansing, Mich.) added 10 points each. Maegan Branham (JR/Michigan Center, MI) had a game high nine rebounds, while three Blue Devils finished with five assists each.

Kitchen and Butler lead the team in scoring as they average 20.7 and 11.7 points per game respectively. Kitchen has a team high 13 steals, while Butler has grabbed 42 rebounds on the season. Hayley Walkowski (SO/Marshall, MI) is averaging 8.8 points per game in just four games, averaging 19.3 minutes per game.

The Blue Devils rank first in NAIA Division II and WHAC field goal percentage (0.499), second in the NAIA in total rebounds defense (29.167) and total rebound margin (17.000). LTU ranks fourth in assists per game (19.833), fifth in three-point field goal percentage (0.392), ninth in three-point field goal defense (0.250), 12h in total rebounds per game (46.167), 13th in scoring margin (18.667), 15th in defensive rebounds per game (30.833), and 16th in scoring defense per game (58.500). LTU ranks in the top 50 of 15 statistical categories in the NAIA.

Kitchen ranks third in NAIA Division II in field goal percentage (0.691) and eighth in points per game (20.667). Whirley ranks 10th in three-point field goal percentage (0.500), while Butler ranks 48th in field goal percentage (0.464).

Lourdes (3-7, 1-4) enter the game following a 94-72 loss at Indiana Tech on Wednesday, December 2. Jesse Fidler led the way with 15 points and six rebounds, while Molea Thompson added 14 points and four rebounds. Mariah DuPree added 12 points and one assist.

Fidler leads the Gray Wolves in scoring, averaging 14 points per game, 5.0 rebounds per game, and a team high 29 steals. Niki Meyer adds 10 points per game and 2.8 rebounds per game.

Lourdes ranks 19th in NAIA Division II scoring defense per game (58.900), 33rd in field goal percentage defense (0.363), total steals (96) and total rebound offense (399). Lourdes ranks 48th in defensive rebounds per game (28.000).

Fidler ranks ninth in NAIA Division II in total steals (29), 13th in field goal percentage (0.570), 18th in steals per game (2.900), and 44th in total scoring (140). Constance Conner ranks 19th in assist-to-turnover ratio (2.667).
