SOUTHFIELD, Mich. -- The Lawrence Technological (Mich.) University women's basketball team hosts (RV) Concordia (Mich.) University - Ann Arbor on Wednesday, November 30. Opening tip set for 6 p.m.
Notes of Interest for Concordia -AA
-Concordia-Ann Arbor is off to a redhot start as they are the lone undefeated team in the WHAC posting a 7-0 record including a 3-0 record in conference.
-The Cardinals opened conference play with a 78-72 win at Siena Heights followed by a 86-56 win against Cornerstone and a 78-65 win over Lourdes.
-Kari Borowiak leads CUAA in scoring, averaging 12.5 points per game, 4.0 assists per game, and 2.2 steals per game.
-The Cardinals are led on the boards by Karlee Morris who averages 6.7 rebounds per game.
-CUAA is averaging 80.7 points per game which ranks third in the WHAC. Defensively, the Cardinals hold their opponents to 56.3 points per game and rank second in the WHAC.
-Concordia-Ann Arbor is 2-0 on the road this season, winning at Siena Heights and at Mount Vernon Nazarene 78-69.
Blue Devils tied for First Place in WHAC
-The Blue Devils are tied with Concordia-Ann Arbor and #8 Davenport for first place in the WHAC. The Cardinals and Blue Devils faceoff on Wednesday, November 30 in Southfield, Mich. Tip set for 6 p.m.
-Lawrence Tech opened the WHAC season with a 52-39 win over Northwestern Ohio on Wednesday, November 16.
Nicole Buckingham (SO/Saginaw, Mich.) had a game-high 18 points while
Allison Kitchen (SR/Clio, MI) had a game-high eight rebounds.
-The Blue Devils followed up their conference opening win with an 80-74 win over #23 Madonna. Kitchen finished the game with her first double-double of the season, scoring 21 points and grabbing 10 rebounds. It was the fifth straight win over the Crusaders.
-LTU hit the road for their last conference game, defeating Aquinas 63-53 behind a season-high 25 points from Buckingham.
Hayley Walkowski (JR/Marshall, MI) added 17 points while Kitchen added a team-high seven rebounds.
Buckingham Palace Resides in Southfield
-Sophomore
Nicole Buckingham is having a breakout season as she leads the Blue Devils in scoring, averaging 15.9 ppg.
-Buckingham has scored in double-digits the last six games, three shy of her 2015-16 mark of nine.
-Last season, Buckingham is averaging 8.1 ppg more than she did last season. Over the opening seven games in 2015-16 she averaged just 5.0 ppg.
-Buckingham is averaging 20.3 ppg in conference play.
-Over her last two games, Buckingham is 12-for-12 from the line and shooting 85.2 percent on the season.
Food Drive started Monday, Nov. 28
-Lawrence Tech men's and women's basketball teams are starting their annual Holdiay Food Drive benefiting Gleaners Food Bank of Southeast Michigan.
-Please bring non-perishable food items to Don Ridler Field House starting Nov. 28. The Food Drive ends on Dec. 7.
