SOUTHFIELD, Mich. - The 17th-ranked Lawrence Technological (Mich.) University (LTU) women's basketball team hosts University of Michigan - Dearborn on Wednesday night at Don Ridler Field House. Tip is set for 6 p.m.
Lawrence Tech (20-3, 17-3 WHAC) defeated Michigan - Dearborn 72-46 in Dearborn, Mich., on Wednesday, January 6. The Blue Devils were led by Christina Henry (JR/Lansing, Mich.) who finished the game with 25 points, four rebounds, and four steals. Allison Kitchen (JR/Clio, MI) added 10 points and four rebounds while Hayley Walkowski (SO/Marshall, MI) recorded eight points and had four rebounds in 14 minutes off the bench. Megan Swick led the way for the Wolverines with 15 points and seven rebounds.
LTU is now 6-1 against the Wolverines and have won five straight in the series.
The Blue Devils leading scorer is senior Hali Butler (SR/Fairport Harbor, OH) averaging 13.52 points per game. Butler is averaging 20.5 points per game and 9.5 rebounds per game over her last four, shooing 54.7 percent from the field. Butler leads LTU in rebounds per game at 7.39 while Cherilyn Banas (FR/Oxford, Mich.) has a team high 2.87 assists per game. Henry leads the team in steals per game at 2.14 and Jazmine Brown (SR/Chesterfield, MI) is tops on the squad in blocks per game at 0.52. Henry and Kitchen each average over 12 points per game at 12.5 and 12.3 respectively.
In NAIA Division II, Lawrence Tech is ranked second in three-point field goal percent defense (0.253), fourth in total rebound margin (11.65), sixth in field goal percent (0.460) and total rebound defense (32.65). The Blue Devils rank ninth in total rebounds per game at 44.30.
Michigan - Dearborn (1-26, 1-19 WHAC) is riding a six game losing streak headed into the game as they fell at Concordia (Mich.) University - Ann Arbor 57-47 on Saturday, February 13.
The Wolverines are led by Swick with 9.8 points per game followed by Kendall Rose with 8.4 points per game, a team high 45 steals and 16 blocks. Marisa Sauve leads the team in rebounds per game at 6.9.
