SOUTHFIELD, Mich. - The [RV] Lawrence Technological (Mich.) University women's basketball team returns to the court on Wednesday, January 4 when they face No. 17 Indiana Tech at the Schaefer Center in Fort Wayne, Ind. Opening tip is set for 6 p.m.
Lawrence Tech (10-5, 6-2) enter the game in Fort Wayne on a one game losing streak as they fell to University of Saint Francis (Ind.) 67-56. The Blue Devils are led by Nicole Buckingham (SO/Saginaw, Mich.) with 16.93 points per game while Allison Kitchen (SR/Clio, MI) averages a team high 6.53 rebounds per game and 2.33 steals per game. Cherilyn Banas (SO/Oxford, Mich.) contributes 3.80 assists per game with Danielle Hanson (FR/East Lansing, Mich.) having four blocks.
The Blue Devils are 4-4 all-time against Indiana Tech including a three game winning streak. Last time LTU played in Fort Wayne (Jan. 2, 2016), the Blue Devils left with a 61-54 win.
Indiana Tech (11-4, 6-2) have lost three straight games including losses to the No. 2 team in NAIA DII Concordia (Neb.) University and No. 8 Dakota Wesleyan (S.D.) in Honolulu, Hawaii at the Hoop N Surf Classic. The Warriors are led by Haley Cook and Keanna Gary. Cook leads the team in scoring with 18.8 ppg while Gary averages a team high 11.5 rebounds per game.
