[RV] LTU snaps two-game losing streak with 82-60 win over Lourdes

SOUTHFIELD, Mich. - The [RV] Lawrence Technological (Mich.) University women's basketball returned home with a 82-60 win over Lourdes (Ohio) University to snap a two-game losing streak for the Blue Devils.

Lawrence Tech (11-6, 7-3) opened the game with a 16-14 first quarter, but opened up the game in the second quarter on a 22-10 run to head to halftime up 38-24 lead. Hayley Walkowski (JR/Marshall, MI) led the way in the first half with 10 points and three rebounds. Nicole Buckingham (SO/Saginaw, Mich.) added nine points while Christina Henry (SR/Lansing, Mich.) grabbed six rebounds in the half.

Lourdes (5-13, 3-7) struggled to gain traction in the third quarter, falling 19-8 with LTU building a 25 point lead with 3:35 remaining in the third. Lawrence Tech maintained its lead over the fourth quarter as they won 82-60.

The Blue Devils were led by Walkowski with 20 points and four rebounds with Buckingham adding 16 points and two blocks. Alexis Ayala (FR/Durand, Mich.) finished with 13 points and a block while Henry led all rebounders with seven.

Elayan Ackerman was Lourdes leading scorer with 14 points while Jesse Fidler added 12 points.

Lawrence Tech is back on the court January 11 when they travel to Detroit, Mich. to face Marygrove (Mich.) College at 5:30 p.m.
