SOUTHFIELD, Mich. - The Lawrence Technological (Mich.) University women's basketball team hosts No. 18-ranked Indiana Tech on Wednesday, February 8 at Don Ridler Field House in Southfield, Mich.
Lawrence Tech (14-11, 10-8) enters the game with Indiana Tech on a one game losing streak, falling to Cornerstone (Mich.) University 55-51 on Saturday, February 4. The Blue Devils fell to Indiana Tech earlier this season in Fort Wayne, Ind., 65-58. Nicole Buckingham (SO/Saginaw, Mich.) led the way for LTU with 13 points while Hayley Walkowski (JR/Marshall, MI) added 11 points and five rebounds in the loss.
Indiana Tech (19-6, 14-4) was led by Keanna Gary with 20 points and 15 rebounds while Haley Cook added 10 points and five assists in the first game against the Blue Devils.
The Warriors are riding a six game winning streak heading into Southfield including a 66-49 win over Concordia (Mich.) University - Ann Arbor on Saturday. Cook leads the Warriors with 18.1 points per game and 2.0 steals per game. Gary leads the team with 12.3 rebounds per game.
Indiana Tech ranks fifth in NAIA DII total three-point field goals made (240), three-point field goal percentage (0.373), and field goal percentage (0.460). The Warriors rank seventh in three-point field goals made per game (9.6) and ninth in assist/turnover ratio (1.136).
Lawrence Tech is led by Buckingham with 16.56 points per game while Allison Kitchen (SR/Clio, MI) adds 6.32 rebounds per game and 1.84 steals per game. Cherilyn Banas (SO/Oxford, Mich.) leads the team in assists with 3.16 per game as Maegan Branham (SR/Michigan Center, MI) records 0.28 blocks per game for LTU.
