SYLVANIA, Ohio -- The No. 22-ranked Lawrence Technological (Mich.) University women's basketball team defeated Lourdes (Ohio) University 79-64 on Saturday, January 6 in Sylvania, Ohio.

Teryn Kline (FR/Fort Wayne, IN) led the Blue Devils with a career high 20 points off the bench as she played 32 minutes, shooting 7-for-11 from the field including a perfect 3-for-3 from beyond the arc.

How it Happened

Lawrence Tech trailed Lourdes early as Jami Hardy gave the Gray Wolves a 10-5 lead 3:35 into the first quarter. Kline cut the lead to three at 12-9 and Hayley Walkowski (SR/Marshall, MI) made it a one-point game at 14-13 with a layup at the 3:48 mark of the quarter. Lourdes ended the quarter with 17-16 lead.

In the second quarter, Lawrence Tech built an eight point lead at 30-22 as Kline nailed a three to start a 14-5 run to open the quarter. Lourdes closed the half with a 6-2 run to cut the LTU lead to four, 32-28. Kline finished with seven points in the quarter. Kline scored seven of her 20 points in the second quarter.

Lourdes fought back in the third quarter to retake the lead at 45-44 before the Blue Devils took the lead for good at 48-47 following a Nicole Buckingham (JR/Saginaw, Mich.) layup. Buckingham made the ensuing free-throw to put LTU up 49-47. Lawrence Tech entered the fourth quarter with a 61-52. The Blue Devils outscored the Gray Wolves 29-24 in the third.

Lawrence Tech closed the game with a strong fourth quarter as they expanded their lead to 15 points at the end of the quarter, 79-64.
