Box Score HUNTINGTON, Ind.- The Foresters (2-1) broke away in the fourth quarter to upend the Blue Devils (1-2) on Wednesday night inside Platt Arena in Huntington, Indiana. It marked the second loss of the year for the Blue Devils and the second consecutive loss to a Crossroads League Opponent this season. The other loss was last Saturday to Saint Francis (Ind.) in Ft. Wayne.
In the first quarter for the Blue Devils, a back and forth game led to the Blue Devils going into the second quarter up by 1 point. As the second quarter got underway, the Blue Devils and Foresters were in a defensive battle, just up by one at halftime 24-23. The third quarter was where the Blue Devils looked to open up the game scoring 18 points in the third quarter and pushing their lead to 42-38. However, as the fourth quarter got underway, the Blue Devils struggled to hit shots and find the open person as they only scored 8 points to close out the game.
Overall the Blue Devils went 17-50 from the field, shooting 34 percent while struggling from the three-point line going 5-21, shooting 23 percent; they were successful from the charity stripe, going 11-18, shooting 61 percent. The Blue Devils outrebounded Huntington 40-36 on the boards. Meanwhile, the Blue Devils turned the ball over 28 times last night.
Gracie Mitchell led the Blue Devils with 14 pts and 5 rebounds on the evening. Meanwhile, Cierra Harris had 8 pts and 6 rebounds alongside, Julia Huey had 6 pts, 3 rebounds, and Kylee Batey had 6 pts, 6 rebounds, and 5 assists. In comparison, Kendall Fisher had 6 pts, and Gabby Gough had 6 pts also. Teryn Kline and Emily Langolf each had 2 pts for the Blue Devils.
