Box Score LIVONIA, MICH., The Blue Devils of Lawrence Technological (Mich.) University looked for redemption on Saturday afternoon against Madonna (Mich.) University. After losing to the Crusaders back on January 4, 2020, in a stunning loss inside the Don Ridler Field House. It was all but the case for the Blue Devils this afternoon as the Crusaders got the dub for the second time this season and series sweep for Madonna for the first time since 2014. The Blue Devils fell for the second time to the Crusaders this season to the tune of 56-61 Saturday afternoon.
It was a tough afternoon for the Blue Devils who, on the afternoon, shot a dismal 18-68 (26.5 %) from the field and an even worse 4-25 (16%) from beyond the arc today. However, the Blue Devils cashed in at the charity stripe going 16-20 (80%) on the afternoon. Unfortunately, the Blue Devils starters didn't help much on the day combining for a low 42 points for this high octane team. The Blue Devils came into the game shooting 36.4% from three and almost 40% as a team from the field.
Overall production across the board for the Blue Devils was limited. But, sophomore Kendall Fisher dropped 21 pts, grabbing four rebounds and dishing out three assists on the afternoon. Junior Teryn Kline was the other double-digit scorer for the Blue Devils today, dropping 14 points on the night. Senior Hope Dollarhide had 8 points off the bench and a team-high nine boards this afternoon.
Looking ahead, the Blue Devils have a crucial week ahead for them with key matchups against Indiana Tech and Siena Heights. The first of the final two games at home is against Indiana Tech whos is top in the conference and one of the elite teams of the NAIA. That game is slated for a 6 pm tip-off on Wednesday, February 12, 2020. It also marks the return of former coach Kyleen Biggs who is now on the coaching staff for Indiana Tech. The Blue Devils then turn their attention to another top tier team in the conference in rival Siena Heights. The Saints come on Saturday, February 15, 2020, in which the Blue Devils will be celebrating four seniors on Saturday afternoon for Senior Day prior to the start of the game. That game is slated for a 1 pm tip-off with Senior Day festivities prior to the start.
