Box Score SOUTHFIELD, MICH.- The women's basketball team hit the hardwood for the third time this week and for the second time in a little over 24 hrs on Thursday night inside the Don Ridler Field House. The result was the Blue Devils grabbing their second conference victory on the season and a defining win over the Saints of Aquinas 70-62. The Blue Devils hadn't beaten Aquinas since December 7, 2019, in Grand Rapids to the tune of 71-62.
A back and forth game that saw both teams trade leads and deliver blows came to headway in the fourth quarter with Blue Devils out, shinning the Saints with 21 fourth-quarter points in comparison to Aquains's 12. In the fourth quarter, the Blue Devils shot 54.5% from the field compared to 35.7% from Aquinas.
Three Blue Devils hit the double-digit mark in the win, with Kendall Fisher leading the way with 24 pts, Teryn Kline had 16 pts, and Julia Huey had 15 pts. Fellow starters Kylee Batey had 7 pts, and Gabby Gough had 8 pts. For the Blue Devils, all the scoring came from their starters. However, the bench also played a pivotal role in the win. Gabby Fogarty continues being a spark off the bench, grabbing 5 boards alongside Cierra Harris, who had 3 rebounds and another block on the evening.
Looking forward, the Blue Devils hit the road again, this time to Sylvania, Ohio, to take on Lourdes in a Saturday matinee with tip-off slated for a 3 pm start. From there, the Blue Devils turn back around, heading this time to Adrian, Michigan, in what has become a heated rivalry game for the women's basketball team. Game time is slated for 5 pm on Super Bowl Sunday at Siena Heights.
