Southfield, Mich. - The Lawrence Technological University Blue Devils women's basketball team took on WHAC foe, the 12th-ranked Indiana Tech Warriors. This game was originally set for the end of the season, but due to postponements by both teams' opponents this week, was rescheduled for Friday afternoon.

The Blue Devils overcame an 11-point fourth-quarter deficit to take down the top team in the WHAC. Their first victory in their past 13 meetings with IT, with the last win coming on February 13, 2016.

Kendall Fisher led all scorers with 20 points. Kyra Whitaker led the Warriors with 13 points. Dominique Evans also reached double figures with 11 points.

How it Happened:

1st Quarter

• Kylee Batey finds Fisher for a jumper to open the scoring
• Taya Andrews hits a layup, knotting it at two
• Back-to-back layups by Jade Faris and Evans extend the LTU cushion to four
• Fisher's triple gave LTU a 9-2 advantage midway through the first
• Laney Steckler hits a three, cutting the deficit to four
• Andrews' layup with 2:32 were the last points of the quarter
• LTU led IIT 13-11 after one

2nd Quarter

• Emma Tuominen and Gracie Mitchell swap freebies to start off the second quarter
• An 8-0 run gave the Warriors a 20-14 lead
• Batey's shot from downtown brought the game within a point
• Whitaker's personal 4-0 run extends the Warrior lead to five
• Olivia Siedlecki's mid-range jumper made the game 26-23
• Another Siedlecki jumper would tie the game at 28
• Bethany Worm makes two free throws to end the half
• Indiana Tech led Lawrence Tech 32-28 at half

3rd Quarter

• Fisher's layup brings the Blue Devils within two, starting the second half
• Eileen Salisbury's back-to-back triples extend the cushion to 40-32
• Worm's freebies pushed the Warriors advantage to 12
• Faris cuts it to eight with a layup
• Whitaker's triple with 2:31 left was the last basket of the third
• Warriors lead 47-36 after three

4th Quarter

• Fisher splits a pair of free throws to start off the fourth
• Whitaker finds Foy for the layup, extending their lead back to 12
• A 7-0 Blue Devils run forces an Indiana Tech timeout
• Evans layup brought the game within three, 53-50 Warriors
• Out of an LTU timeout, Fisher makes a layup to bring it to one
• Addie Nagel finds Faris for a layup, giving the Blue Devils their first lead of the half
• Whitaker finds Foy for the jumper to reclaim the lead for the Warriors with under a minute to go
• Whitaker fouls out, leading to two Fisher free throws, giving the Blue Devils a 56-55 lead with 36 seconds remaining and an Indiana Tech timeout
• Andrews misses the jumper out of the timeout, Fisher's rebound led to an LTU timeout
• A five-second violation gave the Warriors hope, but a missed layup by Tuominen almost seals the deal for the Blue Devils
• Faris misses both free throws which would have put LTU up by three
• Batey, however, grabs the offensive rebound off the missed free throws
• Fisher's two freebies give the Blue Devils a 58-55 lead with six seconds left, timeout Indiana Tech
• Out of the timeout, Steckler misses what would've been the game-tying triple
• Scrambling to get up another shot, Worm grabs the rebound but the time runs out by the time she's able to find an open teammate
• Lawrence Tech knocks off #12 Indiana Tech, 58-55.

The Blue Devils (10-9, 6-3) return to Don Ridler Field House for another conference match, facing Michigan-Dearborn on Monday, January 10 at 5:30 pm.
