Southfield, MI - The Lawrence Technological University women's tennis team played against Cornerstone University on Saturday evening. The Blue Devils would fall short to the Golden Eagles by a final score of 6-1.
In the first doubles match,
Olga Aliagas Mejina and
Alice Radde would go down by a score of 6-3.
Margot Fontaine and
Angela Anderanin resulted in an unfinished match.
The third and final doubles match was
Samantha Weber and
Maria Nicholls as they lost their match 6-1.
In the number one singles match, Olga Mejina went to a tiebreaker set in the first set and lost 7-6. In the second set she was forced to withdraw due to injury.
Fontaine lost the first set 7-5 in a tiebreaker, and went down 6-1 in the second set.
Weber was able to beat her opponent in straight sets by scores of 6-2, 6-3.Â
Radde was the only singles match to go the distance as she would lose 6-2, 2-6, 10-8 (super set tiebreaker).
In the final two singles matches, Andernin and Nicholls lost in straight sets.
LTU would lose to Cornerstone 6-1.
The next Blue Devils tennis match is on Monday, March 21st at Titan Tennis Courts at James K. Campbell Complex. This match will begin at 1 PM.
