Ann Arbor, MI - The Lawrence Technological University softball team played a doubleheader against Concordia University on Saturday. Game one resulted in a pitchers duel as LTU came out with the win 2-1. CUAA would steal game two by a final score of 9-1.
How It Happened: Game One - CUAA 1, LTU 2
- The Cardinals started the scoring in the bottom of the first on a single to third base.
- LTU tied the game in the second after Lily Morrissette stole home.
- Both teams were held scoreless in the third inning.
- An RBI single up the middle for Sarah Hige to score Morrissette gave the Blue Devils a 2-1 lead.
- The Blue Devils were able to shut down the hitters from Concordia to win this game 2-1.
By The Numbers:
- Hige went 4-for-4 and one RBI
- Callie Tatum went 2-for-3 with one walk.
- Morrissette went 1-for-2 with two runs
Clover Brandt got the start in game one throwing a complete game. Brandt gave up eight hits on two runs striking out four batters.
How It Happened: Game Two (F/5) -Â CUAA 9, LTU 1
- CUAA started the scoring in the bottom of the first after a double and single to go up 2-0.
- The Blue Devils were held scoreless in the second and third innings leaving two left on base.
- The Cardinals extended their lead to three after an error by LTU.
- In the top of the fifth, Chloe Carpenter hit an RBI groundout to score Lauren Lanphear to make it 3-1.
- In the bottom of the fifth CUAA scored six runs to close this game out by a final of 9-1.

Grace Roeske got the start in game two pitching 4.0 innings giving up five hits on three runs. Roseke struck out one batter. Brandt came in on relief and gave up four runs.
The next Blue Devils game is on Sunday, April 24th when they play Cleary University in Howell, MI. Game one will begin at 2 PM.
