SOUTHFIELD, MICH. - The Lawrence Technological University men's tennis team opened their duel match season with a 6-1 win over Cedarville University on Saturday    .

• Nils Hammarsten and Evan Morgan  took their 3-doubles match 7-5 
• Antoine Haurez and Takuya King won their 2-doubles match 7-5 to earn the point for LTU
• Eivind Tandberg and Louam Boivin were defeated in the 1-doubles match, 6-7 (4).

 

• Tandberg quickly dispatched his 1-singles opponent 6-1, 6-2 
• King also made quick work of his 3-singles match (6-4, 6-2).
• Morgan took down his 2-singles match 6-2, 6-4 to secure the victory for the Blue Devils
• Diego Colombo finished out his 6-singles match winning 6-1, 6-0
• Boivin won the first set 7-6 (5) before his opponent retired due to injury
• Haurez took his opponent to a first set tiebreaker as well, but won the second set 7-6 (2), 6-3

Coach Mertz on the outing: "The men fought hard and showed that they will be a force when we start duel matches again in the spring. They went on court and showed great energy and spirit which pushed them to victory. I'm proud of them and how they are coming together as a whole."

The Blue Devils head to Indiana Wesleyan on Thursday, September 28^th for the individual event for the weekend.
