SOUTHFIELD, MICH. - The Lawrence Technological University women's tennis team opened their duel match season with a 6-1 loss over Cedarville University on Saturday .
- Alcocer was taken down in 1-singles 1-6, 2-6
- Tedesco dropped her 3-singles match (6-4, 6-2).
- Herrera Rivera won her 2-singles match 7-5, 6-3 to earn a point for the Blue Devils
- McCormick lost her 4-singles match 3-6, 0-6
- Mattingly-Harnden went down 1-6, 0-6 in 5-singles
- Taylor Moore could not hold her opponent in 6-singles, losing 0-6, 1-6.
Coach Mertz on the outing: "The women had their looks at closer matches but ultimately it didn't go our way. We have a lot of things to work on at practice, and need to gain a lot of confidence as individuals and as a team. It was their first match of the season so we are hopeful that we got the jitters out and will be more prepared moving forward"
The Blue Devils head to Indiana Wesleyan on Thursday, September 28
th for the individual event for the weekend.
